Dell Early Black Friday Sale: Lowest prices ever on top three Dell and Alienware gaming monitors (including QD OLED) – IGN

Dell is one of the most popular monitor brands, and for good reason. Dell monitors generally have high-quality panels with excellent image quality, have plenty of features, and come with an above-average warranty that often includes a bright pixel exchange policy. Dell monitors generally have a relatively high retail price, but aggressive discounts occur quite often throughout the year.

Today, Dell is kicking off its Early Black Friday sale with price drops on three of its most popular gaming monitors. These include the S3422DWG (Dell’s best 34″ ultrawide gaming monitor), the S2721DGF (Dell’s best 27″ 1440p gaming monitor), and the first-ever discount AW3423DW (the first and only Dell QD OLED gaming monitor). All three monitors include a 3-year warranty with next day shipping replacement, which is exceptional compared to the typical one-year warranty you get from most other monitor brands.

Update: There is a new coupon code of 5% off “ARMMPPM” which works on monitors.

The AW2323DW is a 34″ monitor with a curved large format 3440×1400 resolution. That’s more than enough pixel density for a 34″ monitor (4K is, in my opinion, overkill for a sub-40″ monitor ) and the resolution is still forgiving enough that you don’t need a monstrously expensive video card to drive it. The QD-OLED panel features a 99.3% DCI-P3 color gamut and is calibrated in factory with a Delta E of less than 2. It’s HDR True Black 400 certified with the hallmark Near Infinite Contrast Levels OLED and an exceptional peak brightness of 1000 nits.Gamers will certainly appreciate the blazingly fast 0.1ms response time and the 175Hz refresh rate. This was the first OLED gaming monitor to achieve G-SYNC “Ultimate” certification, since one of the requirements is the ability to push 1000nits in HDR, and traditional OLED displays are just not bright enough. In terms of op connectivity options, there are DisplayPort and HDMI ports as well as two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports.

QD-OLED technology was a big hit at this year’s CES and Samsung won the ‘Best of Innovation 2022’ award for it. The QD OLED panel uses quantum dot technology to more efficiently produce higher peak brightness levels compared to traditional OLED TVs without losing the color accuracy and range and wide viewing angles that OLEDs are known for. Although Samsung was the one who first introduced the new technology, it was Alienware that brought the first QD OLED monitor to the consumer market.

The Dell S3422DWG is one of the best 34-inch ultrawide gaming monitors on the market. It sports an ultrawide 3440 x 1440 16:10 resolution and 1800R curve. 1440p resolution is always the sweet spot when you have to compromise between image quality A 1440p display, especially in the 34″ screen size, is more than sharp enough to make your games look beautiful, but it won’t tax your system as heavily as a true 4K display. You can pair it with a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or equivalent card and it’ll give you plenty of power to spare for maximum graphics settings or ultra high frame rates .

The Dell S3422DWG uses a VA panel, which offers a 1ms response time, 144Hz refresh rate, 3000:1 contrast ratio and 90% DCI-P3 color coverage. It’s not officially G-SYNC compatible, although we’ve personally tested it and found G-SYNC works well on this monitor (as it typically does with most gaming monitors these days).

The Dell S2721DGF is easily one of the best 27″ gaming monitors under $300. The QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution is the best you can find for a 27″ screen size (a 4K resolution at this size is exaggerated and a waste of GPU resources). The high-quality IPS panel offers wide viewing angles and excellent color rendition, including 98% DCI-P3 color coverage. It’s also covered on the gaming front with a super-fast 1ms response time, up to 165Hz refresh rate via DisplayPort, and FreeSync Premium Pro and G-SYNC certifications. At this price, it’s still cheaper than other Dell 27″ gaming monitors that don’t have nearly the same number of features, and it comes with the same 3-year warranty as the other two monitors.
